Yoshi is a Partner at Sarvasūkṣma with extensive experience in corporate and commercial transactions in particular in banking and debt finance works. He also has a handful of experiences in capital markets for issuance of local public bonds and international high yield bonds. Yoshi has also dealt with various debt restructuring matters including advising clients in court-driven restructuring process via bankruptcy and suspension of payment (PKPU). In 2022, he is selected as one of the ALB Indonesia Rising Star 2022 by ALB Thomson Reuters and also listed as a notable lawyer in banking and finance by Legal 500.
Yoshi obtained his Sarjana Hukum (Bachelor of Laws) from University of Padjajaran. He is a member of Indonesian Financial Sector Legal Consultant Association (Himpunan Konsultan Hukum Sektor Keuangan) and registered in Indonesian Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan).
Throughout more than a decade of his career, Yoshi has been involved in a variety of high profile and sophisticated deals in various industrial sectors and was consistently trusted to represent both foreign and domestic clients, including large banks, brokerage firms, securities companies, asset managers, hedge funds as well as private and public companies.
Before founding Sarvasūkṣma, Yoshi worked at Witara Cakra Advocates, an affiliate firm of White and Case and Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung (in association with Herbert Smith Freehills).
Experiences
- Advised Bank OCBC NISP and Bank Mandiri in a refinancing facility in the amount of IDR 1.238.000.000.000 and US$ 50,784,000 with an accordion facility of IDR 90.000.000 to plantation companies owned by Saratoga and Triputra groups.
- Advised UOB Kay Hian Private Limited on several financings to its Indonesian clients.
- Advised one of Asia’s largest fund and asset management firms in the restructuring of notes issued by an issuer which is owned by an Indonesian conglomerate media company.
- Advised a large multinational bank and financial services in post suspension and payment (PKPU) and bankruptcy of PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk.
- Advised an Indonesian investment company on a financing to an Indonesian listed company in the technology sector.
- Advised a Hong Kong-based hedge fund sponsor on various structured and equity financings.
- Advised PT Permadani Khatulistiwa Nusantara, a property company of Rajawali group, on an aggregate of US$260 million senior secured term loan granted by Bank Negara Indonesia, Standard Chartered Bank, Bank Mandiri and Bank Syariah Mandiri for Rajawali Place project.
- Advised PT Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Tbk on a refinancing loan facility up to IDR 1 trilion granted by Bank Negara Indonesia.
- Advised ANZ Banking Group Limited, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft, DBS Bank, Mizuho Bank, United Overseas Bank on a US$788.5 million credit facility to Lembaga Pembiayaan Ekspor Indonesia (Indonesia Eximbank).
- Advised Panasonic Healthcare on a JPY117 billion syndication credit facility provided by Mizuho Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Nomura Capital Investment and Resona Bank, Limited.
- Advised Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited, Morgan Stanley Asia (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., Standard Chartered Bank. DBS Bank Ltd and ING Bank N.V., Singapore Branch as domestic counsel to the Initial Purchasers in the US$400 million 6.950% Reg. S high yield bond offering by Medco Laurel Tree Pte. Ltd. guaranteed by PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk. and various of its subsidiaries
- Advised BNP Paribas, CIMB Bank Berhad, Singapore Branch, Credit Suisse (Singapore) Limited, Deutsche Bank AG, Singapore Branch and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Co., Ltd. Singapore Branch as domestic counsel to the Initial Purchasers in the US$200 million 7.500% Reg. S high yield bond offering by LMIRT Capital Pte. Ltd.
- Advised PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk. on a debut local bonds public offering with an aggregate of IDR600 billion. The bonds are underwritten by DBS Vickers Sekuritas Indonesia, Mandiri Sekuritas and Maybank Kim Eng Sekuritas.
- Advised International Finance Corporation as the standby purchaser and subscriber in the offering of IDR 600 million convertible bonds (with an aggregate principal amount of IDR 720 billion) through a public rights offering by PT Adi Sarana Armada Tbk., an Indonesia listed company in the logistics and transportation sector.
- Advised Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited on the integration of its Indonesian branch business (Bangkok Bank Indonesia) with Bank Permata Tbk.
- Advised Deutsche Bank AG as one of the creditors in the process of suspension of payment (PKPU) of PT Berlian Laju Tanker Tbk. in 2012.
